\u00a0A Ilha do Metal- ) A primeira pergunta \u00e9 quase uma cl\u00e1ssica, como a banda come\u00e7ou, como foi a escolha do nome POD – Payable on Death, e qual \u00e9 o significado real?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny\u00a0)<\/strong>\u00a0Payable On Death \u00e9 um termo banc\u00e1rio. O que quer que uma pessoa deixa para tr\u00e1s depois que ela faz a passagem \u00e9 considerada “a pagar por morte.” e relacionamos esse termo para a nossa f\u00e9. Jesus Cristo morreu na cruz, pagando o pre\u00e7o pelos nossos pecados. Atrav\u00e9s de sua morte temos vida.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0Voc\u00ea se considera uma banda de White Metal? E como voc\u00ea v\u00ea isso um monte de r\u00f3tulos em Heavy Metal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )<\/strong>\u00a0N\u00f3s n\u00e3o somos uma banda de metal, e nunca fomos. N\u00f3s sempre nos vemos como uma banda mais de hardcore \/ punk do que metal. N\u00f3s misturamos muitos\u00a0estilos diferentes que devem ser considerados apenas metal. N\u00f3s tocamos um monte de m\u00fasica pesada, e automaticamente nos colocam como essa “mistura metal”.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0As letras P.O.D`s. s\u00e3o muito positivas, mas os v\u00eddeos costumam ter cenas de viol\u00eancia, por que esse contraste?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )<\/strong>\u00a0Eu nunca vi isso dessa maneira, os v\u00eddeos s\u00e3o apenas uma outra express\u00e3o art\u00edstica. Esse visual \u00e9 muito poderoso e sempre queremos contar uma hist\u00f3ria atrav\u00e9s da m\u00fasica com um v\u00eddeo. Vivemos em um mundo muito sombrio, e optamos em ser positivos.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Sobre o seu novo lan\u00e7amento, Acoustic\u00a0Album, como foram as grava\u00e7\u00f4es e como criar as m\u00fasicas em formato ac\u00fastico? O \u00e1lbum estar\u00e1 \u00e0 venda aqui no Brasil?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )<\/strong>Ainda estamos terminando tudo. N\u00f3s s\u00f3 quer\u00edamos fazer isso por divers\u00e3o. Fomos convidados a tocar\u00a0um monte de shows ac\u00fasticos para v\u00e1rios f\u00e3s vencedores de concursos de r\u00e1dio e realmente transformamos nossas\u00a0velhas can\u00e7\u00f5es neste\u00a0formato \u00a0ac\u00fastico. Nem todas as nossas m\u00fasicas podem traduzir-se em vers\u00f5es ac\u00fasticas, mas \u00e9 divertido tentar. N\u00f3s gravamos cl\u00e1ssicas can\u00e7\u00f5es do P.O.D. e tamb\u00e9m\u00a0fizemos\u00a0duas novas.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0A banda veio ao Brasil h\u00e1 alguns meses e agora vir\u00e3o poucos dias antes de lan\u00e7ar um \u00a0novo CD, como o P.O.D. est\u00e1 preparando este set list e o que voc\u00ea acha que vai ser diferente do \u00faltimo show no Carioca Club?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>Esperemos lan\u00e7\u00e1-lo\u00a0antes de irmos. Somos sempre o\u00a0P.O.D, n\u00f3s fizemos\u00a0\u00a0umas jam com\u00a0Jason Truby onde tocamos algumas faixas dos \u00e1lbuns “Payable On Death” e do \u00a0“Testify”. \u00a0N\u00f3s tamb\u00e9m poderemos estar tocando uma m\u00fasica nova ainda que estar\u00e1 no pr\u00f3ximo \u00e1lbum.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0Sobre Tours, o que voc\u00ea acha que mudou\u00a0na ind\u00fastria da m\u00fasica ao longo destes anos e com esse novo cen\u00e1rio qual a\u00a0import\u00e2ncia\u00a0das turn\u00eas\u00a0hoje?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>Tudo mudou. A m\u00fasica n\u00e3o \u00e9 a mesma. Eu sinto como se a m\u00fasica tivesse perdido sua paix\u00e3o. Ningu\u00e9m mais compra registros dos verdadeiros artistas que escrevem, gravam e vivem a sua pr\u00f3pria m\u00fasica. Digo dos artistas\u00a0de verdade, se voc\u00ea n\u00e3o excursiona\u00a0voc\u00ea n\u00e3o come. Temos trabalhado duro por 22 anos e voc\u00ea acha que seria capaz de excursionar menos nos dias de hoje, mas \u00e9 exatamente o oposto. Parece que as bandas permanecem fi\u00e9is ao \u00a0f\u00e3s e muitos est\u00e3o esquecendo ( a m\u00fasica). Bandas j\u00e1 n\u00e3o s\u00e3o mais os definidores de tend\u00eancias. Muitas\u00a0bandas fazem qualquer coisa para\u00a0vender um disco.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )\u00a0\u00a0POD come\u00e7ou quando todos os f\u00e3s compravam muitos CD `s e LP` s, o que voc\u00ea recomendaria para uma banda nova que est\u00e1 come\u00e7ando e como esta mudan\u00e7a, a partir de LP`s para streaming, afetou a carreira do P.O.D. ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>H\u00e1 um milh\u00e3o de bandas hoje em dia. A tecnologia tornou todo mundo um m\u00fasico. H\u00e1 tantos pontos de venda para obter a sua m\u00fasica l\u00e1 fora. H\u00e1 boas e m\u00e1s repercuss\u00f5es sobre\u00a0isso. \u00c9 mais dif\u00edcil para as bandas j\u00e1 estabelecidas que trabalharam t\u00e3o duro para chegar onde \u00a0essas bandas ruins saturam o mercado com sua m\u00fasica med\u00edocre. F\u00e3s se tornaram apenas consumidores \u00e0 espera de sua pr\u00f3xima dose a cada 60 segundos.<\/p>\n

\nA Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0The first question is almost a classic question, how the band started and how was the choice of the name POD – Payable on Death and what the real meaning?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>Payable On Death is a banking term. Whatever a person leaves behind after they pass away is considered “payable on death.” We related that term to our Faith. Jesus Christ died on the cross paying the price for our sins. Through His death we have Life.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0Do you consider an White Metal band? And how you see this a lot of labels in Heavy Metal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )<\/strong>\u00a0We’re not a metal band, never have been. We’ve always been more of a hardcore\/punk band than metal. We mix to many different flavors and styles to be considered just metal. We play a lot of heavy music so we automatically get thrown into the metal mix.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )\u00a0P.O.D`s lyrics. are very positive, are very positive, but the videos usually have scenes of violence, why this contrast?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>I’ve never seen it that way. Videos are just another artistic expression. Visual is very powerful and we always want to tell a story through music and video. We live in a dark world but choose to be positive.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0About your new release, Acoustic Album, how was the recording sessions and how create the songs in acoustic format? The album will be for sale here in Brazil?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>We’re still finishing it up. We just wanted to do it for fun. We were asked to play a lot of acoustic shows for radio contest winners and we really enjoyed transforming old songs into acoustic. Not all of our songs can translate into acoustic versions but it’s fun to try. We’ve recorded classic P.O.D. songs and are writing 2 new ones.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )\u00a0The band came to Brazil a few months ago and now will come days before releasing new CD, how P.O.D are preparing this set list and what do you think will be different from the last show at Carioca Club?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>Hopefully it will release before we go. We’re always P.O.D. We’ve been jamming songs during the Jason Truby days off the “Payable On Death” and “Testify records. We might also be jamming a new unrecorded song from future record.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0About Tours, what do you think has change at the music industry in these years and with new scenario what the importance of a musicians has some endorsement today?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )<\/strong>Everything has changed. Music is not the same. I feel as if music has lost it’s passion. Nobody buys records any more from the true artists that write, record and live their own music. For real bands, if you don’t tour you don’t eat. We’ve been working hard for 22 years and you’d think we’d be able to tour less these days but it’s just the opposite. It seems as if the bands that stay true to who they are get overlooked. Bands are no longer the trend setters. These bands have and will become whoever you want them to be to sell a record.<\/p>\n

A Ilha do Metal- )<\/strong>\u00a0P.O.D started when all fans bought many CD `s and LP` s, What you recommend for a new band that is starting and how this change, from LP`s to streaming, affect P.O.D. carreir?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sonny )\u00a0<\/strong>There are a million bands out today. Technology has made everyone a musician. There are so many outlets to get your music out there. There are good and bad repercussions. It’s harder for the established bands who have worked so hard to get where there at when all these bands saturate the market with mediocre music. Fans have just become consumers waiting for their next fix every 60 seconds.<\/p>\n
